Alexia's November Book Haul

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been sorta absent from the blog lately. At the beginning of November we got a nasty surprise and that was that our landlord was going to be selling the house we're currently living in. So, we started looking for a new rental. And then, my grandma surprised my mom & I by saying that she & her husband were going to help us buy a home.

Needless to say, we've been frantically house shopping for the last 3 weeks. It's not as straightforward as one might think because I am in a wheelchair, so I need a house with lots of open space. I don't wanna be trying to squeeze between a couch & a kitchen counter.

Obviously, I haven't been reading a whole lot. Hoping I can read again once we've found a place and are in escrow.

Thanksgiving was PERFECT this year. So thankful for that because last year's sucked. I hope all of you who celebrate it, had a great thanksgiving as well.

Alexia's October Book Haul

Hi guys! I can hardly believe it's the end of October already. Seems like just yesterday I was in & out of the hospital. And I also cannot believe it's been almost a year since my cardiac arrest in my grandma's car. Really this year has FLOWN by and I think it's because so much has happened to me and to my family.

Onward to the important part of this post, the books! I am really looking forward to the three review books I picked up. I am trying to read more Adult fiction, and psychological thrillers are still my faves, so I'm hoping the one adult title in this pile, fits that category.

Alexia's August/September Book Haul

Happy Fall, everyone! I'm so excited that we've finally entered my favorite time of the year and I can only hope this fall is much better than the previous two Falls. 

Over the past 2 months, I've only gotten a few books. I cannot believe the haul is so small, but maybe that's a good thing. Maybe I can catch up on a lot of books in the next few months. One of these, I've already read, and I am reading another one in this pile. I am really excited about these four review books!

Alexia's July Book Haul

Holy cow, I cannot believe it is the end of July already! How in the heck is that even possible? This month absolutely flew by. 

I had my surgery on the 5th, and things went well there. I actually had a short, uncomplicated surgery for the first time ever. Surgery took 2 & 1/2 hours and the doctor was thrilled with how well it went. I went home the next day, as planned and have spent the last few weeks healing. 

I haven't read hardly at all, and in fact only picked up a book this past Wednesday for the first time all month. Looking at my huge haul this month, I am startled by how many new books I've added to my shelf. I didn't realize exactly how many there were.

How was your July?

Alexia's June Book Haul

Hi guys!

This month was the best reading month I've had in a long time. I'm writing this on Thursday, so it's a possibility that I was able to finish one more book since then. If so, it's my best reading month all year. If not, June is still tied with January for the best reading month of the year. Not only did I read a lot, but the majority of my reads were excellent books. 

I knew I was going to have to read a lot this month because next month, actually next week, I'll be back in the hospital for another heart procedure. This is more like a minor surgery to put an internal cardiac defibrillator. Surgery is set for July 5th and hopefully I'll have no complications and I'll be discharged the next day. 

I don't know how my recovery will go, so I might not be around much for a little while. At least I've got some good books to look forward to, although I've already read a couple of these.

How was your June?

Alexia's May Book Haul

Hi guys!

It's been quite a month. My heart procedure went well, despite it taking 10 hours to complete. I struggled coming off the ventilator, so I had to stay in the hospital for an extra day. It does look like I'll be having a pacemaker put in this summer before my doctor leaves the practice, but I've known a pacemaker was in my future for at least 5 years, so I just want it DONE. Also this month, I was diagnosed with asthma and holy crap, it's kicking my ass.

I didn't read much in May, but I didn't think I would. Now, I have to cram in a ton of reading before my pacemaker surgery (whenever it is) I already finished one book in June, so YAY me. Hoping the rest of June goes well reading-wise.

And yes, I am aware that Before I Let Go is on here twice. It was crazy, I bought a copy at Target the day before my heart procedure & then my Netgalley request was approved. Really weird seeing as the book came out months ago, but I digress.

How was your May?

Alexia's April Book Haul

Hi guys! 

I don't know if any of you remember, but I was supposed to have a heart procedure done 8 days ago. Well that didn't happen because one of the doctors had to go to Taiwan for a funeral. So the new date is this coming Tuesday, yup, May 1st. Everything is gonna be played by ear blogging & reading wise for awhile, but I hope to get back to it SOON. At least I've got some great books to look forward to because reading this month has been ABYSMAL. Massively disappointed in my reading for the month of April.

How was your April?

Alexia's March Book Haul

Hi guys and welcome to my first book haul post at our new home. Ginormous kudos to Bekka for all the hard work she put in with this. I am so grateful to her.

Anyway, onto the books. So I didn't read as much as I wanted to in March. Frustrating as hell, but I'm hoping this month will be better. Well this month until April the 20th when I'll go into the hospital to have some heart procedures done & an internal cardiac defibrillator so I don't have another episode of cardiac arrest like I did in November.

I don't know when I'll be up to blogging/reading again because I don't know how I'll recover and I'll have limited movement in my shoulder for awhile.
